IU Physical Plant Receives 50 Year Award

Staff of IU Physical Plant Receive Award

The National Weather Service presented a 50 year Institutional Award to the Bloomington Indiana University Physical Plant, Tuesday December 5, 2006.

Official weather records have been recorded at the IU Power Plant since November of 1956.  The outstanding performance of the observers at the Plant has created an excellent database for climatological interests. Because of this, IU at Bloomington is included in an elite network of stations known as the Historical Climatological Network.

Presenting the award to Mark Menefee, Assistant Director of Utilities is John Ogren MIC, NWS Indianapolis.  Also pictured (L-R) Mark Moser,  Tim Isom, Jim Moore, Rick Miller, Jim Salmon (behind Mark Menefee).
