Maximum/Minimum Temperature System (MMTS)

These items make up the MMTS (maximum/minimum temperature system). The digital display usually is found inside the cooperative observer's home and is usually read at 7:00 AM each morning.  The readings are then reset for the next 24-hour period.  It has a 35-day memory of high, low, and hourly temperatures.  A 9-volt battery provides a backup for power outages.

The outside unit "bee hive" in coupled by a cable to the inside unit. The cable is buried. The outside unit is placed on an aluminum pole 4 to 6 feet above the grassy, ground level.
