Bill Keller - 45 Years of Service Award

Nov 10, 2003

The National Weather Service (NWS) honored Bill Keller of Shoals with a Richard Hagemeyer, 45 Year Length of Service Award. On October 1st Mr. Keller surpassed this mark. He actually has 2 more years of service which occurred back in the 1940's when he started his observations, but had to postpone he meteorological career for a period of military service.

Mr. Keller and many others in the Keller family, including his wife Fern many of their children and his father and grandfather, have measured and recorded river readings along with precipitation and temperatures since the 1920's.

The NWS is extremely grateful for the dedication and extra effort that Mr. Keller and his family have made for well over 45 years and look forward to continued observations in the years ahead.
