      KILLED A WOMAN SOUTH OF CRAWFORDSVILLE.  16 OTHERS WERE
      INJURED.

02. 1990  THE LARGEST TORNADO OUTBREAK IN STATE HISTORY.
      37 TORNADOES TOUCH DOWN...LEAVING 8 DEAD.

03. 2008  MOSCOW...AN EF-3 RATED TORNADO MOVES ACROSS PORTIONS OF
      RUSH COUNTY...DAMAGING HOMES AND DESTROYING A COVERED
      BRIDGE.

04. 1993  PRAIRIETON...WINDS PICK UP A SMALL AIRPLANE AND DEPOSIT
      IT IN A TREE.

05. 2005  FRANKFORT...THUNDERSTORM WINDS ESTIMATED NEAR 90 MPH
      DAMAGED HOMES AND A BUSINESS.

06. 2008  TIPTON...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS CAUSE 850000 DOLLARS
      DAMAGE...INCLUDING KNOCKING DOWN A RADIO TOWER.

07. 1948  NEAR ANDERSON A HAILSTORM DROPPED HAIL 2 INCHES IN 
      DIAMETER...AND WAS UP TO ONE FOOT DEEP IN SPOTS.

07. 1980  WINDFALL...A TORNADO TOUCHDOWN KILLED ONE MAN AND
      INJURED FIVE OTHER PEOPLE.

08. 2008  THUNDERSTORMS DUMPED UP TO 11 INCHES OF RAIN ACROSS
      SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF CENTRAL INDIANA CAUSING EXTENSIVE 
      FLOODING. 

09. 2008  CLINTON...FEATHER CREED FLOODS AND FORCES RESIDENTS 
      FROM THEIR HOMES.

10. 1974  A COLD AIR FUNNEL BECOMES A BRIEF TORNADO NEAR CARMEL
      CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE.

11. 1883  BUTLERVILLE...A TORNADO STRUCK A MOVING FREIGHT
      TRAIN...PICKING UP SEVEN CARS FILLED WITH SUGAR...AND
      THROWING THEM INTO THE WOODS SOME DISTANCE AWAY.

12. 2005  THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL STORM ARLENE SPAWN A F1
      TORNADO NEAR HAYDEN IN JENNINGS COUNTY.

13. 2008  BROWNSBURG...LIGHTNING STRIKES A CONSTRUCTION 
      CRANE...INJURING ITS OPERATOR.

14. 1880  FIVE STRONG TORNADOES STRUCK CENTRAL INDIANA...KILLING
      AT LEAST 18 PEOPLE.  CATTLE WERE SAID TO BE KILLED IN DROVES
      AND ORCHARDS RUINED.  THE GERMAN LUTHERAN CHURCH IN CICERO
      WAS BLOWN DOWN AND ITS BELL CARRIED FIFTY FEET AWAY.

15. 1987  A TORNADO TOUCHES DOWN NORTHWEST OF DANVILLE...HITTING
      A PIG FARM AND LIFTING SEVERAL PIGS IN THE AIR.

16. 1984  SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS CAUSE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO 
      SEVERAL BUILDINGS IN GREENSBURG.

17. 1992  ON THE NIGHT OF THE 17TH-18TH...A FAST MOVING SQUALL
      LINE MOVED ACROSS THE STATE CAUSING WIDESPREAD WIND DAMAGE.
      SOME STORMS ALSO BROUGHT LARGE HAIL AND FLASH FLOODING.

18. 1978  TERRE HAUTE...WIND GUSTS AROUND 80 MPH BLOW OUT WINDOWS
      IN DOWNTOWN TERRE HAUTE.

19. 1980  BEANBLOSSOM...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS OVERTURN 
      CAMPERS /VEHICLES/ AT A CAMPGROUND.

20. 1942  FROM MORAN TO KOKOMO...A TORNADO STRUCK WHICH WOUND UP
      KILLING 4 PEOPLE AND INJURING 150 MORE. THE GREATEST DAMAGE
      WAS IN THE KOKOMO AREA.

20. 1990  DECATUR...LIGHTNING STRUCK A HOUSE WITH SUCH FORCE THAT
      IT BLEW A PLASTIC SWITCH PLATE OFF A LIGHT SWITCH AND
      EMBEDDED IT IN THE OPPOSITE WALL.

21. 1995  GOLF BALL SIZE HAIL FALLS IN GREENFIELD.

22. 1992  LOW TEMPERATURES IN THE 30S IN THE NORTH AND CENTRAL
      CAUSED A DAMAGING FROST.  INDIANAPOLIS LOW TEMPERATURE OF
      37 IS LOWEST EVER RECORDED IN THE CITY DURING THE SUMMER
      MONTHS.

23. 1995  MOORESVILLE...A MAN WAS STRUCK BY LIGHTNING WHILE
      BALING HAY.

24. 1981  LAFAYETTE...A TORNADO DAMAGES SEVERAL HOMES AND AN 
      APARTMENT COMPLEX.

25. 1978  INDIANAPOLIS...THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE 100 MPH WINDS.

26. 1973  A TORNADO SEVERELY DAMAGES A TRAILER COURT IN DALEVILLE.
      THE SAME TORNADO DAMAGES HOMES IN YORKTOWN AND MUNCIE.  

27. 1993  SEVERAL INCHES OF HAIL COVERED THE GROUND IN PARKE
      COUNTY WITH DRIFTS OF 1 TO 2 FEET.  A 4-WHEEL DRIVE COUNTY
      HIGHWAY TRUCK HAD TO BE PULLED OUT OF A DRIFT.  THE NEXT
      MORNING HAIL STILL COVERED THE GROUND IN THE GUION AREA.

28. 1874  INDIANAPOLIS...85 DEGREES IS THE WARMEST LOW
      TEMPERATURE ON RECORD FOR THE CITY.

28. 1902  IN CENTRAL INDIANA TEN PEOPLE WERE KILLED BY TWO
      TORNADOES.  ONE OF THE FATALITIES WAS A MAN WHO WAS
      ATTENDING A FUNERAL SERVICE AT A HOME IN THE TOWN OF
      CLEVELAND.  FIVE GLASS FACTORIES WERE WRECKED IN HANCOCK
      COUNTY.

29. 1929  INDIANAPOLIS...THE HIGHEST WIND GUST IN CITY HISTORY IS
      MEASURED AT 111 MPH.

30. 1877  WAVERLY...FRANKLIN AND ST PAUL...A TORNADO STRUCK
      KILLING 10.  THE TORNADO PICKED UP A SCHOOL NEAR WAVERLY
      AND MOVED IT 50 YARDS DOWN A HILL...AND CARRIED ANOTHER
      SCHOOL ACROSS A FIELD SCATTERING ITS FURNITURE FOR HALF A
      MILE.
