1926 -- Fort Wayne's wettest day on record, with 4.93" of rain.

1953 -- Hail and wind did half a million dollars damage in Gratiot County, Michigan.

1988 -- South Bend's hottest August temperature: 103°.

2003 -- An F1 tornado destroyed a garage just south of the intersection of IN 67 and 1250W in Jay County. An F0 tornado Two Plymouth residents were struck by lightning near Dixon Lake (Marshall County) while waiting for a ride home...they suffered burns on their arms, shoulders, and back and were knocked unconscious. 61 mph thunderstorm winds blew 50 fruit trees down two miles southwest of Goshen. Hail 2.75" in diameter was witnessed four miles north of Bronson (Branch County). A barn's roof was blown off two miles north of Convoy (Van Wert County).
