1943 -- A severe hailstorm hit Allen County, Indiana causing a million dollars in damage. The storm also produced tornadoes near Payne and Van Wert, Ohio, and drowned several people on Lake Wawasee, Indiana when strong winds capsized their boat.
1944 -- Fort Wayne's coldest July temperature: 44°.
1997 -- Widespread flooding across Steuben and Williams counties.
1998 -- Two inches of rain fell in 40 minutes at Fremont and Hamilton, Indiana. A home was destroyed in Warsaw, Indiana by a falling tree, and Cook Chapel Church's tents were blown away and never found thanks to 74 mph winds. Several people were injured when lightning struck the 4-H building in Angola. One man became paralyzed when a large tree limb fell on his car in Leipsic, Ohio. A two-story house completely lost its upper floor at Leipsic. Leipsic Elementary School suffered extensive damage. Siding was ripped off houses in Goshen with 64mph winds. Lightning induced fires at Fremont (Steuben County) destroying a barn and kennel at 3580 South CR 800 E, and destroying a barn and tractor at 3285 North CR 650 E. Golf ball sized hail fell at Denver (Miami County). The Coast to Coast store in North Manchester (Wabash County) lost their greenhouse and security fence in 58mph winds. Golf ball sized hail fell on Coldwater.
1999 -- Dime sized hail fell at Michigan City. A thunderstorm blew down a canopy and part of a wall at a shopping mall in Lima.
2001 -- Two inches of rain in three hours flooded a store up to two feet deep in Fremont (Steuben County). Four inches of rain in 90 minutes flooded streets and basements in Berne (Adams County). Power lines were blown down in Berne as well. In Hillsdale a man went outside to check possible lightning damage to his barn. While standing outside the barn he was struck by lightning and died shortly thereafter at Hillsdale Community Health Center. 66mph winds in Van Wert.
2003 -- An F0 tornado was on the ground for two miles southwest of Twelve Mile (Cass County Indiana) damaging trees and corn fields. Hail 1 inch in diameter was reported in Plymouth. Four inches of rain in 2 hours sent Spy Run Creek out of its banks in Fort Wayne, requiring sandbagging.
