1977 -- Hundreds of lives were claimed in New England during a severe blizzard.

2002 -- Huge winter ice storm lasting for about 5-6 days... starting from IL, IN , and OH left a 1/2 in to an inch of ice, taking down powerlines and trees. Around 1 million were left without power in those three states.

2008 -- 6" to 10" of snow fell late January 31st into the morning hours of February 1st across much of northwest Indiana and southern Michigan. Michigan City reported 10" of snow.

2011 -- Blizzard strikes northern Indiana and southwest Michigan with 8" to 16" of snow and wind gusts to 55 mph.
