1807 -- "Cold Friday". The temperature stayed below zero all day in Ohio.

1978 -- The Northeast Blizzard of '78 began this afternoon and continued into the 7th. Nearly 18 inches of snow fell in New York City...two feet fell on Boston. Fifty-five mile per hour winds whipped the snow into huge drifts and the Atlantic Ocean into towering waves. Ninety-nine people were killed and 39,000 people were stranded or forced from their homes. Northeast Rhode Island saw 50 inches of snow...Portland, Maine had a 14 foot tall surf, and winds gusted to 92 mph at Chatham, Massachusetts.

2002 -- In Ohio, for about 2 days straight... an winter storm produced about 1/2 to 1 inch of ice. Damages including many tree limbs and trees down due to the weight of the ice and down powerlines too.
