1937 -- The Ohio River at Evansville, Indiana, crested 19 feet above flood stage. Two-thirds of Evansville was under water. Ninety thousand people fled their homes. Jeffersonville, Indiana was 90% flooded. Leavenworth, Indiana was abandoned and moved to a new townsite on higher ground.
1982 -- Eleven inches of snow fell on Fort Wayne. Some sleet was mixed in with the snow when it began, and winds blew to 31mph. At Indianapolis, 8.1 inches fell.
2002 -- Major icestorm struck northern Indiana, northwest Ohio, and southern Michigan, causing widespread power outages and tree damage. 250,000 customers were without power, some for up to three days. Up to an inch and a half of ice accumulated.
