1943 -- A Lieutenant and Colonel in the Air Force decided to fly into a hurricane. It was the genesis of hurricane hunters.

1997 -- Trees and power lines blown down by thunderstorms in the counties of Cass Michigan, Saint Joseph County Michigan, Saint Joseph Indiana, Elkhart, Noble, Whitley, Allen Indiana, Wells, and Adams. A woman was injured by lightning at 2:22pm at 10884 Harder Road near Constantine, Michigan.

1999 -- Hail 1" in diameter was seen at LaPorte.

2002 -- Thunderstorm winds blew down trees in Bronson (Branch County) and Coldwater, and downed power lines in Jonesville (Hillsdale County).

2003 -- 58mph thunderstorm winds blew trees and power lines down in Wells and Adams counties, especially around Bluffton, Berne, and Geneva.

2006 -- 2.51" of rain was recorded at the South Bend airport which set a new rainfall record for the date. The previous record was 2.15", set in 1951.

2006 -- Heavy rain producing thunderstorms pounded southern Kosciusko, southern Whitley and Allen counties during the early morning hours of the 27th. 5.50" of rain was recorded along Spy Run Creek in Fort Wayne which resulted in moderate flooding along Spy Run Creek. 4" to 4.5" was observed over southern Whitley and southern Kosciusko which resulted in flooded basements and considerable street flooding, especially in Columbia City.
