1998 -- Severe storms affected much of the lower Great Lakes region. Hail 4" in diameter was reported in northern Whitley County. Mentone suffered widespread tree and structural damage. 75 mph winds rushed through Wallen (Allen County, Indiana). An F0 tornado damaged a few farmhouse rooftops six miles west of Westville (LaPorte County). 81 mph winds at Scott (Van Wert County). Flooding in Paulding County.

1999 -- Thunderstorms blew trees down in Van Wert, Branch, Hillsdale, Noble, Wabash, Starke, and Marshall counties.

2000 -- Severe storm winds blew the roofs off two barns and moved a large grain bin a quarter mile six miles north of Bronson (Branch County). An F1 tornado one mile northwest of Pandora (Putnam County) damaged a barn, crops, and fruit trees.

2001 -- 69 mph thunderstorm winds four miles north-northeast of North Webster (Kosciusko County). Girl sleeping in her bedroom in Michigan City suffered a broken arm when a tree blew over, crashing into her bedroom. Field irrigation system blown across US 30 at Wanatah (LaPorte County). 70 mph winds blew trees down in Albion. Roof was blown off of the porch of a house in Butler (DeKalb County). An old barn was flattened and windows were blown out of a home at Golden Lake (Steuben County). Lightning struck Briarwood Apartments five miles east of Benton Center (Berrien County), destroying the roof of one building and wrecking two apartments, with a total of $800,000 in damage.
