1913 -- Greatest flood ever seen in eastern Indiana and western Ohio. The Maumee River at Fort Wayne reached its all-time high crest of 26.1 feet. Dayton, Ohio was inundated by floodwaters. In the Midwest 467 people drowned and $147 in damage was done.

1948 -- Good Friday tornadoes moved from Terre Haute to Redkey, Indiana killing 20 people. Eighty percent of Coatesville was destroyed, and 16 people killed. The path was a half mile wide.
