1911 -- Tornadoes swept through Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana. A tornado tore through the center of Waterloo, Indiana. Kansas City and Oklahoma City had a record high and a record low temperature as a cold front plowed through.

1940 -- The Armistice Day Storm caused whole gales on Lake Michigan and caused shipwrecks and the loss of 59 sailors. Muskegon, Michigan reported 67 mph winds.

1996 -- Up to 40" of lake effect snow fell on northern lower Michigan from the 9th through the 14th.

1997 -- Lake effect snow caused many accidents in Michigan, including a roll-over in Hillsdale County.
