National Weather Service in Jackson Recognizes Major Sparks of Whitesburg, KY for 15 Years of Service as a Cooperative Weather Observer

On May 10, 2012, NWS Jackson presented Major Sparks with a 15 Year Length of Service award at his home near Whitesburg, KY.  Mr. Sparks has been reporting daily maximum and minimum temperatures, precipitation, snowfall and snow depth information to the National Weather Service Office in Jackson, KY since October 1st, 1997.
