STRONG WESTERLY DOWNSLOPE WINDS AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM
COMBINED WITH A NON EXISTENT SNOWPACK ALLOWED TEMPERATURES TO
RISE INTO THE 60S. A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 68 DEGREES AT
IMPERIAL SHATTERED THE OLD RECORD BY 5 DEGREES. A POWERFUL COLD
FRONT THEN SWEPT ACROSS THE AREA LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH
WIND GUSTS INTO THE 50 MPH RANGE ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE EASTERN
PANHANDLE AND SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA.
