TEMPERATURES WELL ABOVE NORMAL AND PRECIPITATION BELOW NORMAL
FOR NORTH PLATTE AND VALENTINE
WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS PERSISTED ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA DURING THE MONTH OF DECEMBER. PRECIPITATION AND SNOWFALL
FOR THE MONTH WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL AND THE LACK OF SNOWCOVER LED TO
TEMPERATURES WHICH WERE WELL ABOVE NORMAL.

FOR NORTH PLATTE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR DECEMBER
WAS 27.7 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 2.3 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 25.4
DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 42.9 DEGREES AND WAS
3.8 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 39.1 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW
TEMPERATURE WAS 12.4 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.8 DEGREES ABOVE THE
NORMAL OF 11.6 DEGREES. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET
DURING DECEMBER IN NORTH PLATTE.

FOR VALENTINE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR DECEMBER WAS
28.5 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 4.7 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 23.8
DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS
42.0 DEGREES WHICH WAS 5.4 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 36.6 DEGREES.
THE AVERAGE DAILY MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WAS 15.0 DEGREES WHICH WAS 4.0
DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 11.0 DEGREES. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE
RECORDS WERE SET DURING DECEMBER IN VALENTINE.

FOR PRECIPITATION IN DECEMBER...NORTH PLATTE TOTALED 0.32 INCHES AT
LEE BIRD FIELD...WHICH WAS 0.09 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 0.41
INCHES. VALENTINE RECORDED 0.20 INCHES...WHICH WAS 0.17 INCHES BELOW
THE NORMAL OF 0.37 INCHES. NO DAILY PRECIPITATION RECORDS WERE SET
FOR THE MONTH AT EITHER NORTH PLATTE OR VALENTINE.

NORTH PLATTE SNOWFALL FOR DECEMBER TOTALED 3.0 INCHES...WHICH WAS
1.6 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 4.6 INCHES. FOR VALENTINE...SNOWFALL
FOR THE MONTH TOTALED 1.4 INCHES AND WAS 3.7 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL
OF 5.1 INCHES. NO DAILY SNOWFALL RECORDS WERE SET AT NORTH PLATTE OR
VALENTINE.
