SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES
BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION FOR NORTH PLATTE AND VALENTINE
DROUGHT CONDITIONS IMPROVED SOMEWHAT IN CENTRAL NEBRASKA IN JUNE
THANKS TO CARRY OVER FROM A WET MAY. HOWEVER...EXTREME TO
EXCEPTIONAL DROUGHT CONDITIONS CONTINUE ACROSS A LARGE PORTION OF
WESTERN AND SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...WITH NO ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENT
IN DROUGHT CONDITIONS FORECAST FOR JULY. THIS IS DUE TO DRY
CONDITIONS DURING THE LAST WEEK OF JUNE AS LITTLE OR NO RAINFALL
OCCURRED ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA.

FOR NORTH PLATTE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE WAS
69.2 DEGREES...AND WAS 1.3 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 67.9 DEGREES.
THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 84.6 DEGREES AND WAS 2.8
DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 81.8 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW
TEMPERATURE WAS 53.8 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.2 DEGREES BELOW THE
NORMAL OF 54.0 DEGREES. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET FOR
THE MONTH OF JUNE IN NORTH PLATTE.

FOR VALENTINE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE WAS 67.8
DEGREES...AND WAS 0.3 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 67.5 DEGREES. THE
AVERAGE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 80.9 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.2
DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 81.1 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY LOW
TEMPERATURE WAS 54.7 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.7 DEGREES ABOVE THE
NORMAL OF 54.0 DEGREES. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET FOR
THE MONTH OF JUNE IN VALENTINE.

PRECIPITATION AT LEE BIRD FIELD IN NORTH PLATTE TOTALED 1.95
INCHES...WHICH WAS 1.47 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 3.42 INCHES. NO
DAILY PRECIPITATION RECORDS WERE SET DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE FOR
NORTH PLATTE. PRECIPITATION AT MILLER FIELD IN VALENTINE TOTALED
2.45 INCHES FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE...WHICH WAS 1.11 INCHES BELOW THE
NORMAL OF 3.56 INCHES. NO DAILY PRECIPITATION RECORDS WERE SET
DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE FOR VALENTINE.
