JUNE 2014 WAS THE WETTEST JUNE ON RECORD
  FOR VALENTINE AND SECOND WETTEST ON RECORD FOR NORTH PLATTE

AN ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN DEVELOPED DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE 
AND PERSISTED THROUGH THE END OF THE MONTH. NUMEROUS UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCES...BROUGHT OCCASIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO
WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA THIS PAST JUNE. IN ADDITION
TO ABUNDANT RAINFALL...SEVERE STORMS WITH LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING
WINDS AND TORNADOES OCCURRED DURING THE MONTH AS WELL. BY THE END
OF THE MONTH...VALENTINE TALLIED 8.63 INCHES AND NORTH PLATTE 8.75
INCHES OF RAIN. IMPERIAL AND BROKEN BOW REPORTED 7.05 AND 7.76
INCHES OF PRECIPITATION RESPECTIVELY.

FOR NORTH PLATTE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE WAS
67.8 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.1 DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 67.9
DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 81.0 DEGREES WHICH
WAS 0.8 DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 81.8 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY
LOW TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 54.6 DEGREES WHICH WAS 0.6 DEGREES
ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 54.0 DEGREES. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE
SET FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE IN NORTH PLATTE.

FOR VALENTINE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE WAS 66.6
DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.9 DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 67.5 DEGREES. THE
AVERAGE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 78.8 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 2.3
DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 81.1 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY MINIMUM
TEMPERATURE WAS 54.4 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.4 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL
OF 54.0 DEGREES.

AT LEE BIRD FIELD IN NORTH PLATTE...PRECIPITATION FOR JUNE TOTALED
8.75 INCHES...WHICH WAS 5.33 INCHES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 3.42 INCHES.
JUNE 2014 WILL GO DOWN AS THE SECOND WETTEST JUNE ON RECORD. ONE
DAILY PRECIPITATION RECORD WAS SET DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE. ON THE
6TH...2.32 INCHES OF RAIN FELL AT LEE BIRD FIELD BREAKING THE RECORD
OF 1.36 INCHES SET PREVIOUSLY IN 1967.

AT MILLER FIELD IN VALENTINE...PRECIPITATION FOR JUNE TOTALED 8.63
INCHES WHICH WAS 5.07 INCHES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 3.56 INCHES. JUNE
2014 WILL GO DOWN AS THE WETTEST JUNE ON RECORD FOR VALENTINE. THE
PREVIOUS MONTHLY RECORD WAS 8.18 INCHES SET IN 1905. THREE DAILY
PRECIPITATION RECORDS WERE SET DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE IN VALENTINE
AND ARE SUMMARIZED BELOW...
