WELL BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION FOR NORTH PLATTE
THE FIRST HALF OF MAY WAS UNSEASONABLY COOL ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH  
CENTRAL NEBRASKA WITH TEMPERATURES WELL BELOW NORMAL THROUGH MAY
17TH. TEMPERATURES CLIMBED SIGNIFICANTLY FOR THE LATTER HALF OF THE
MONTH WITH TEMPERATURES WELL ABOVE NORMAL OVER THE FINAL TWO WEEKS
OF THE MONTH. BY MAY 31ST...MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURES FOR BOTH
NORTH PLATTE AND VALENTINE WERE NEAR NORMAL.

FOR NORTH PLATTE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR MAY WAS
57.8 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.1 DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 57.9
DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 72.5 DEGREES WHICH
WAS 0.8 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 71.7 DEGREES. THE AVERAGE DAILY
LOW TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 43.0 DEGREES WHICH WAS 1.1 DEGREES
BELOW THE NORMAL OF 44.1 DEGREES. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE
SET FOR THE MONTH OF MAY IN NORTH PLATTE.

FOR VALENTINE...THE AVERAGE DAILY MEAN TEMPERATURE FOR MAY WAS 58.0
DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.4 DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 57.6 DEGREES.
THE AVERAGE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 71.2 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.3

TEMPERATURE WAS 44.9 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 0.6 DEGREES ABOVE THE
NORMAL OF 44.3 DEGREES. ONE DAILY HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORD
WAS TIED FOR THE MONTH. ON THE 31ST...THE LOW IN VALENTINE WAS 62
DEGREES. THIS TIED FOR THE WARMEST MINIMUM TEMPERATURE ON THAT DATE.
