When was the last 100° reading in North Platte?

August 1st, 2011...The streak is over!

The official temperature at Lee Bird Field hit 100 degrees at 140 PM CDT on Monday August 1st, 2011.  The last time the city of North Platte reached 100 degrees was back on August 3rd, 2008.  This means that 1092 days have eclipsed since the city last hit 100 degrees, which happens to be the 7th longest stretch of time that North Platte has gone without reaching the century mark.

For those who ask "what was the longest stretch that North Platte failed to reach 100 degrees?"  To answer, we must venture back to July 13th, 1886, when the city recorded its first 100 degree reading in almost five years (1773 days).
