A cold front will sweep across western & north central Nebraska on Tuesday.  Rain showers will begin across northwestern Nebraska on Tuesday afternoon, then spread east through the Sandhills - mixing with or changing to snow by Tuesday night as colder air arrives across western Nebraska.  Several inches of snowfall accumulation are likely over the Sandhills and parts of the Platte River valley by Wednesday morning.  The area of concern is along and to the west of Highway 83, and north of Interstate 80. Strong  northwest winds could create areas of blowing and drifting snow, with hazardous travel conditions over western parts of Nebraska from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Precipitation is expected to end by Wednesday afternoon as the storm system pulls away from the region.
