National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office

The National Weather Service office had an informational booth for the 2012 annual Home Show, held in North Platte.  This annual event which is hosted by the North Platte Home Builders Association, was held Friday February 17th, through Sunday February 19th, at the Sandhills Convention Center at the Quality Inn and Suites.

The emphasis on the NWS booth centered on Weather-Ready Nation - which is an initiative to save more lives and livelihoods.  By increasing the nation's weather-readiness, the country will be prepared to protect, mitigate, and respond to and recover from weather-related disasters.
