Lightning Safety Awareness Week
June 20th through June 26th, 2010

Lightning Safety Awareness Week is held to heighten awareness of the public to the dangers lightning poses.  Although summertime is the peak threat period for lightning, it can pose a threat  year round. On average in the U.S. - 58 people are killed each year by lightning, and more than 400 people are struck by lightning.
