Plummeting Temperatures Overnight

Surface high pressure will build into the Upper Midwest and Central Plains tonight.  This will diminish winds and help bring a drier air mass into the region.  Strong radiational cooling will be occurring due to the snow cover still in place.

Overnight low temperatures are expected to bottom out in the Platte River Valley, to readings from minus 5 to minus 8 degrees. The coldest locations will be across Sheridan County where temperatures could dip to around ten degrees below zero before dawn.
