July 3rd, 2010 - Weather Recap

On Saturday, July 3rd scattered thunderstorms developed along an advancing cold front across the eastern Nebraska panhandle. A brief tornado 15 miles southwest of Gordon was reported by a farmer, who saw the tornado in a field, at 446 PM MDT. Hail to the size of golfballs, was reported 5 miles northeast of Merriman in Cherry County at 525 PM MDT.

Eventually the complex of thunderstorms produced outflow winds , with gusts as high as 56 miles an hour at the Valentine Airport, and 54 miles an hour at Crescent Lake.
