Winter Weather Across Portions of Western And Central Nebraska Monday

A strong cyclone emerging from the Rockies will rapidly deepen across the Colorado Front Range and western Nebraska during the morning and daytime period Monday. The possibility of light to moderate snow with locally heavy rates will develop across the Eastern Panhandle into Cherry County. Farther eastward, east of a line from Ogallala to Valentine, rain will develop during the morning. A changeover to snow will occur during the late morning into the afternoon from west to east, but accumulations across this area will be minor. Strong northwest winds will develop across the Eastern Panhandle at 15 to 30 MPH gusting to 40 MPH. Winds will slowly begin to turn northwesterly across the remainder of central Nebraska as the cold front pushes eastward during the day.
