A potent winter storm tracked across western and north central Nebraska on Wednesday, December 19th, 2012.
This storm system brought widespread accumulating snow to the region, along with gusty northerly winds.
Blizzard conditions were reported with visibility below one quarter mile for prolonged periods of time. A vehicular accident on Interstate 80, just east of North Platte, occurred around 1230 PM CST on Wednesday.
Numerous reports of blizzard conditions were received by the National Weather Service, Emergency Management, and law enforcement personnel.
Blizzard conditions were reported in Chase, Hayes, Perkins, Frontier, and Lincoln counties.
