Sparks Tornado Storm Survey

 On May 23, 2010, the National Weather Service in North Platte conducted a storm damage survey of a tornado which occurred around 850 PM CDT Saturday, May 22, 2010.  The tornado has been officially rated an EF-0 tornado with winds ranging from 65 to 85 mph.  The path length was approximately one mile with a path width of 20 yards.  No injuries were reported with this storm.

The tornado touched down over an open field west of Sparks, traveling east, it struck a metal building tearing off the west facing roof.  The tornado then destroyed a portion of a grandstand, and completely demolished a concession stand before lifting 200 yards east of the concession stand.
