State capitals are not immune to tornadoes as this one ripped right through downtown Frankfort on April 20th, 2011:
Event: EF0 tornado
Begin time: 1:28am EDT
End time: 1:33am EDT
Begin point: 1.6 miles southwest of Frankfort
End point: 3.25 miles east of Frankfort
Wind speed: 70 mph
Path length: 4.7 miles
Path width: 30 yards
The tornado damaged several trees and knocked shingles off of houses. The most significant damage was found near the Frankfort Cemetery and the State Capitol.
