Huge thunderstorms erupted over the Kentucky Blue Grass during the afternoon of May 10, 2011, and dropped hail up to baseball size.

|Here is a radar image of the inside of one of the storms. The bright purple area denotes the portion of the storm containing the huge hail. This picture was taken a few miles southwest of Carlisle in Nicholas County at 3:18pm.|
