...UPDATED STORM DAMAGE SURVEY FOR BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY IN 
NORTH-CENTRAL KENTUCKY...
ASSOCIATED WITH A LINE OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THAT MOVED 
ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL INDIANA AND NORTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY...A SMALL 
TORNADO WAS CONFIRMED TO HAVE TOUCHED DOWN IN THE HARDINSBURG AREA 
OF BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY SATURDAY AFTERNOON (JUNE 12 2004).   BASED ON 
FURTHER MAP ANALYSIS...THE ORIGINAL PATH LENGTH OF THE TORNADO WAS 
OVER ESTIMATED.  OUR NEW ANALYSIS INDICATES THAT THE PATH LENGTH WAS 
NEAR ONE HALF OF A MILE.

* MAX EST WINDS - 70 MPH
* MAX PATH WIDTH - 50 YARDS
* MAX EST PATH LENGTH - 1/2 MILE (UPDATED)
* TIME OF OCCURRENCE - 1255 PM EDT (JUN 12 2004)
* INJURIES/FATALITIES - NO SERIOUS INJURIES REPORTED, NO FATALITIES
.MORE DETAILED INFORMATION FROM SURVEY...
A WEAK TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN JUST EAST OF OLD U.S. HIGHWAY 60 IN 
HARDINSBURG NEAR THE BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY EMS CENTER.  IT DAMAGED 
MANY LARGE TREES OVER A PATH OF 1/2 OF A MILE ON THE EASTERN SIDE OF 
OLD U.S. HIGHWAY 60 IN A PATH TOWARDS THE MEADOWSIDE APARTMENTS.  
MINOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS FOUND ALONG THE PATH TO VARIOUS 
BUILDINGS. LOCAL RESIDENTS AS WELL AS A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT 
OFFICIAL WITNESSED THE TORNADO ON THE GROUND.
ADDITIONALLY...A FEW STORAGE BUILDINGS AND A MOBILE HOME OFF OF CODY 
LANE WAS ROLLED ON ITS SIDE. NUMEROUS LARGE TREES WERE ALSO DOWNED 
IN THIS AREA.  THE DAMAGE IN THIS AREA IS CONSISTENT WITH 
STRAIGHT-LINE WIND DAMAGE. A FEW MINOR INJURIES...BUT NO SERIOUS 
INJURIES WERE REPORTED.
