The National Weather Service (NWS), under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Department of Commerce (DOC), is responsible for providing weather services to the nation. We are charged with observing and reporting the weather, and have the responsibility of issuing forecasts and warnings for all manners of weather, for the safety of the general public and in the interest of the national economy. 

This mission is carried out by a network of weather offices and national centers located throughout the United States and it's territories, along with a highly trained workforce of dedicated men and women.  Through this network, we provide an invaluable service to both government agencies and to the general public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
