Flash Flood Statements are issued as needed to follow-up Flash
Flood Warnings. The product is used to update current storm
position and movement, and often contains more detailed
information on the flooding event. Communities and
locations affected by the flooding will be highlighted, along with
any flooding reports that have been received in the warned area.
Typically, it is a brief statement and will be issued as often
as necessary, often midway through the warning, and issued again
after the warning expires. A Flash Flood Statement may also
be used to cancel a warning early if the flooding hazard no longer
exists.
