Severe Weather Statement (SVS, WWUS53 KLMK)

Severe Weather Statements are issued as needed to follow-up Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Warnings. The product is used to update current storm position and movement, and to highlight communities and locations still in the path of the storm. Severe Weather Statements will also include reports of severe weather that have already occurred.

Typically, it is a brief statement and will be issued as often as necessary, often midway through the warning, and issued again after the warning expires. A Severe Weather Statement may also be used to cancel a warning early if the severe weather hazard no longer exists for the warned area.

  LOUISVILLE...MOVING SOUTH AT 20 MPH.

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE NEAR...
  WILLISBURG...ST. CATHERINE...SPRINGFIELD AROUND 735 PM EDT
  FENWICK AROUND 745 PM EDT

WIND GUSTS TO NEAR 60 MPH ARE POSSIBLE ALONG AND AHEAD OF THIS LINE 
OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. ALSO FREQUENT DEADLY LIGHTNING IS LIKELY, 
THEREFORE YOU SHOULD TAKE SHELTER UNTIL THESE STORMS HAVE PASSED. IF 
YOU HAVE ANY SEVERE WEATHER REPORTS, PASS THEM ALONG TO YOUR LOCAL 
LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY AND ASK THEM TO RELAY YOUR REPORT TO THE 
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE.
