 WSR-88D Animated Images: May 23, 2000 Severe Weather Event Loop of base reflectivity data (about every 10 minutes) from the KLVX WSR-88D Doppler radar during the afternoon of May 23, 2000. The supercell thunderstorm moved across Breckinridge and Grayson counties in north-central Kentucky during this time. Golfball to baseball size hail was reported in Breckinridge County, while a tornado touched down in Grayson County causing substantial damage in the town of Leitchfield (the county seat). The tornado produced F3 damage during its maximum intensity in Leitchfield (image 4), with F1 to F2 damage in other parts of the town.
