Daily snowfall amounts are very important to many facets of the communities.  This page lists the different products we issue with  snowfall data and is continually updated.

Local Storm report

Storm Reports are weather reports sent to us by the public during severe weather or winter weather.  You may have to keep hitting previous version to see a report for the area you are looking for. 

 

Cooperative Observer Program

The Cooperative Observer Program (COOP) is made up of volunteers who take daily reports of such elements as temperature, precipitation, snowfall and snow depth and transmit the information back to WFO Chicago.  The observations are taken once daily, usually between 6 am and 8 am.

 

Chicago Area Snowfall Team (CAST) and Rockford Area Snowfall Team (RAST)

The Chicago Area Snowfall Team and Rockford Area Snowfall Team is made up of volunteers across the area to help with providing snowfall information, such as amounts and depths.

 

CoCoRaHS - Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network

CoCoRaHS is a unique, non-profit, community area network of volunteers of all ages and backgrounds working together to measure and map precipitation (rain, hail and snow).
