Record Heat In March 2012

A persistent upper level ridge dominated the weather pattern for the majority of the month. This pattern led to unprecedented warmth across the Midwest and record setting temperatures.  St. Louis, Columbia, and Quincy shattered their previous record average temperatures for the month.  Below are the top ten warmest average temperatures for the month of March, along with normal values and individual records for each of the three reporting sites.
