Hurricane Issac Brings Widespread Rainfall

August 30 - September 2nd 2012

The remnanats of Hurricane Isaac slowly moved through the region producing rounds of occasionally moderate-heavy rainfall, especially within thunderstorms which developed both Friday and Saturday afternoon.  The heaviest total rainfall amounts across the area where in northeast Missouri and central Illinois, where generally three to seven inches of rain fell.  Areas with the least amount of total rainfall where in portions of central Missouri and southeast Missouri, but even these locaitons observed one to three inches cumulatively.  The rainfall was certainly welcome and will help ease ongoing drought conditions, especially in the short term.
