Moved NE along  the Jersey/Greene County border, from 4 miles NW of Jerseyville and then moved into Macoupin County 9 miles N of Medora.  A total of 10 people were injured.

Touching down on an island in the Mississippi River, the tornado struck Simms Hollow near Grafton.  Three homes were destroyed and loaded railroad cars were overturned.  Two people were killed in one of several small homes leveled at a stone quarry.  One of their children may also have died.  Household goods were carried 2 miles.  Touchdown may have been in MO.

Touching down briefly 3 miles N of Jerseyville, this tornado unroofed a "substantial" farm home.

Moved NE, unroofing or damaging 10 homes at Grafton.  A houseboat was overturned in the river.

Tornado formed in St. Charles County, MO causing $65,000 and then crossed the Mississippi River SE of Elsah.   A total of 4 people were injured by the tornado.

Formed near Kemper and quickly moved NE into Macoupin County.  Five buildings in Kemper had roof damage.  Five farms lost barns or other buildings.  This tornado produced a total of $35,000 damage.

A tornado had an intermittent path from Jerseyville to Greenup.  The tornado damaged a service station at Jerseyville before moving into Macoupin County.

Tornado sighted 3 miles W of Grafton.  Woman drowned when trapped under cabin cruiser which was capsized.

Pictures were taken of tornado as it moved north in and near Jerseyville.  Tornado struck two hog barns.

A tornado touched down briefly destroying 4 mobile homes at Jerseyville.

Eight mobile homes and a number of trees were severely damaged when a tornado touched down at New Delhi.

A small tornado hit the Jerseyville Aviation Center and damaged 12 aircraft and severely damaged 7 hangers.  Six aircraft were destroyed.

A tornado touched down on the eastern bank of the Illinois River and moved eastward across the southern edge of Pere Marquette State Park.  It tore the roof off a house, destroyed several outbuildings at a farm, and destroyed several sheds and many trees at the Park.  It was apparently a short-lived event.

Storm spotters reported a brief tornado which only damaged a few trees.
