Formed 3 miles west of Troy and moved ENE, passing NW of town.  The funnel was "a spectacular sight, half a mile high, with a long kite tail".  A farm home was unroofed; a bed from the second story landed across the road.  Clothes were carried for a mile.

Moved NE, passing 3 miles E of Bellflower in Montgomery County before dissipating in Lincoln County.  A church and a barn were destroyed.  A woman was killed and an infant was injured.  Unclear which county the death and injury occurred in.

Formed 4 miles SW of Apex and moved NE across the town before crossing the Mississippi River into Calhoun County, IL.  Four homes were destroyed and 11 people injured in Apex.  A total of 11 people were killed, 63 injured, and $450,000 in damage with the tornado.

A school bus garage at the R-III school was demolished.  Metal utility buildings were picked up and rotated before being dropped in a broken condition.  Mobile homes, power and telephone lines were damaged.  Heavy damage to homes and buildings in Troy.  Movement of storm was from W to E, with the last damage on Highway 47 E of Troy.

A small tornado apparently first touched down on Lincoln County Route D, 1.5 miles S of the Route D/Route E intersection, or about 8 miles SW of Silex.  The tornado moved NE crossing Route D about 1 mile E of the Route D/Route E intersection.  Damage path ended 1 mile N of Route E, 5 miles W of Silex.  Damage included numerous farm buildings, 2 farm homes and a mobile home, and a two-car garage.

A tornado touched down briefly at Moscow Mills.  Most of the damage was to a house and two barns.

A tornado touched down S of Moscow Mills near Highway OO and moved to just N of Highway N in Winfield.  Several homes were destroyed of damaged.  Poles were downed and trees uprooted.

A tornado formed just southeast of Whiteside and continued northeast for about 6 miles. Two barns and 2 utility sheds were destroyed near the initial formation point. Several power poles and large trees were either snapped off or uprooted. This damage was rated at F1 while the rest of the damage path was F0. The tornado continued along County Road F destroying a few more utility buildings, downing numerous trees and power poles
