How to schedule your spotter training class:

Spotter classes are scheduled January - April, and September - November.

Contact:  Jim Kramper -  Warning Coordination Meteorologist

Spotter training classes are usually scheduled every other year for each county, but exceptions can be made. There is no charge for the class, but you must furnish the location and participants. Given the increased demand, attendance of at least 30 people is recommended to schedule a class. The class usually lasts between 2 and 2 1/2 hours, and typically starts at 6:30 or 7:00 p.m. The class is divided into two parts with a break in between. Having refreshments at the break are encouraged, but not mandatory. It is recommended that you post a story in local newspapers and on local radio stations to get the word out to as many people as possible to increase attendance.

The Spotter Training Class has been POST certified in Missouri! Law enforcement personnel will receive 2 hours continuing education credit for attending the class. is the U.S. government's official web portal to all federal, state and local government web resources and services.
