...DAMAGE SURVEY INFORMATION FOR THE MARCH 12 2006 TORNADIC
SUPERCELL THAT STARTED IN SOUTHERN CALLAWAY COUNTY MISSOURI
AND TRACKED NORTHEAST INTO MONTGOMERY AND LINCOLN COUNTY
MISSOURI...

PERSONNEL FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN ST LOUIS HAVE
SPENT THE LAST 2 DAYS SURVEYING THE TRACK OF THE TORNADIC SUPERCELL
WHICH MOVED FROM SOUTHERN CALLAWAY COUNTY MISSOURI INTO SOUTHWEST
ILLINOIS. THIS STORM PRODUCED AT LEAST 2 TORNADOES.

THE FIRST INDICATION OF TORNADO DAMAGE WAS IN EXTREME SOUTHERN
CALLAWAY SOUTHWEST OF TEBBETTS. A MOBILE HOME WAS FLIPPED ONTO ITS
SIDE ON COUNTY ROAD 4010 ABOUT 1130 PM. THE TORNADO THEN CROSSED
THE MISSOURI RIVER AND CAUSED DAMAGE IN NORTHERN OSAGE COUNTY.
IN CHAMOIS AT ABOUT 1140 PM...TREE DAMAGE WAS F0UND NEAR MAIN AND W
TENNESSEE STREET. THE TORNADO TRAVELED NORTHEAST WHERE IT DAMAGED THE
ROOFS OF A TWO BARNS...THROWING DEBRIS APPROXIMATELY 150 YARDS INTO
AN OPEN FIELD. THIS DAMAGE WAS RATED AS F1 INTENSITY.

APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES NORTHEAST OF CHAMOIS...TWO SHEDS WHERE
DESTROYED AND ANOTHER SHED AND HOME WHERE DAMAGED. DEBRIS WAS THROWN
AT LEAST 500 YARDS INTO A NEARBY OPEN FIELD. NUMEROUS TREES WHERE
DAMAGED JUST NORTHEAST OF THIS LOCATION...DAMAGE WIDTH WAS
APPROXIMATELY 150 YARDS WIDE. THIS DAMAGE WAS RATED AS LOW END F1
INTENSITY.

THIS TRACK CONTINUED NORTHEAST WHERE IT CROSSED THE MISSOURI RIVER
AGAIN AND ENTERED EXTREME SOUTHEAST PORTIONS OF CALLAWAY COUNTY.  AS
THIS TORNADO DISSIPATED...ANOTHER FORMED JUST TO THE SOUTHEAST.

THIS TORNADO ALSO TRAVELED TO THE NORTHEAST AND DAMAGED A HOUSE ALONG
HIGHWAY 94 APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES WEST OF THE CALLAWAY...MONTGOMERY
COUNTY LINE. NUMEROUS TREES WERE SNAPPED OR UPROOTED. THE DAMAGE
WIDTH WAS APPROXIMATELY 200 YARDS WIDE.

THE TORNADO CROSSED INTO MONTGOMERY COUNTY AND DESTROYED A SMALL
SHED ALONG COUNTY ROAD 289. THE TORNADO WEAKENED AND DISSIPATED
APPROXIMATELY 2.5 MILES NORTHEAST OF HIGHWAY 94 ALONG COUNTY ROAD
289. THE DAMAGE ALONG THIS PATH WAS RATED AS F0 INTENSITY.

THE SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORM CONTINUED NORTHEAST ACROSS MONTGOMERY
COUNTY PRODUCING ANOTHER TORNADO THAT STARTED ON THE SOUTHWEST SIDE
OF JONESBURG ABOUT MIDNIGHT...MONDAY MARCH 13. DAMAGE WAS FIRST
FOUND ON HIGHWAY Y WHERE A HOME SUFFERED ROOF DAMAGE. ON WEST
BOONSLICK ROAD...A PORTA POTTY BUSINESS SUFFERED ROOF DAMAGE IN
ADDITION TO ABOUT 20 PORTA POTTIES DESTROYED...A FEW OF WHICH WERE
MISSING. A GARBAGE BIN WAS BLOWN ABOUT 100 YARDS INTO A FIELD AND A
MOBILE HOME JUST NORTH OF THE BUSINESS WAS BLOWN ONTO ITS SIDE AND
DESTROYED. DAMAGE IN THIS AREA WAS RATED F1 AND WAS 100 YARDS WIDE.

THE TORNADO CROSSED INTERSTATE 70 AT MILE MARKER 83 WHERE IT PUSHED A
TRACTOR-TRAILER OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE TORNADO THEN PRODUCED DAMAGE AT
IT CROSSED HIGHWAY E. SEVERAL HOMES SUFFERED ROOF DAMAGE AND
SEVERAL GARAGE AND BARN TYPE STRUCTURES WERE DESTROYED.

THE TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST AND CAUSED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AS IT
CROSSED OAK HALL ROAD (COUNTY ROAD 250). THE CC PALLET COMPANY WAS
DESTROYED...AND TWO MOBILE HOMES WERE DESTROYED. A 73 YEAR OLD
WOMAN SUFFERED BROKEN BONES AND A BACK INJURY IN ONE OF THE MOBILE
HOMES. THE TORNADO AT THIS LOCATION WAS AT 200 YARDS WIDE AND WAS
RATED F2.

THE TORNADO MOVED NORTHEAST CAUSING TREE DAMAGE AS IT MOVED ACROSS
PRIMARILY OPEN FIELDS. JUST NORTH OF HIGHWAY NN...A NEW HOME WAS
DESTROYED...TRESS WERE MANGLED AND ANOTHER HOME SUFFERED ROOF
DAMAGE. THE TORNADO WAS RATED F3 AT THIS LOCATION AND WAS 300 YARDS
WIDE.

THE TORNADO NEXT CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE ALONG HIGHWAY NN RIGHT
AT THE MONTGOMERY WARREN COUNTY LINE ABOUT 1210 AM. A BARN AND
SEVERAL OUTBUILDINGS WERE DESTROYED AND A HOME SUFFERED ROOF
DAMAGE. THE TORNADO WAS RATED F1 AND WAS ABOUT 100 YARDS WIDE AT
THIS LOCATION. THE TORNADO CONTINUED INTO WARREN COUNTY THROUGH
MOSTLY FOREST AREA AND DISSIPATED ABOUT 1215 AM. THE ENTIRE TRACK
WAS ABOUT 6 MILES IN LENGTH.

THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY REPORTED 8
STRUCTURES DESTROYED...10 WITH EXTENSIVE DAMAGE...AND 14
WITH MODERATE DAMAGE. THIS COVERS HOMES AND BUSINESSES AND DOES NOT
INCLUDE BARNS AND OUTBUILDINGS.
