...UPDATED PRELIMINARY DAMAGE SURVEY RESULTS FOR CRAWFORD COUNTY
MISSOURI...

THE FOLLOWING IS AN UPDATED PRELIMINARY DAMAGE ASSESSMENT FOR TWO
TORNADOES THAT FORMED WITH THE NORTHERN MOST SUPERCELL (SUPERCELL
`A`) WHICH MOVED ACROSS CRAWFORD COUNTY MISSOURI.

THE FIRST TORNADO INITIALLY TOUCHED DOWN 1.5 MILES WEST OF LEASBURG
AT APPROXIMATELY 2:40 PM CDT. THE TORNADO RAPIDLY MOVED OVER
LEASBURG AND CAUSED MINOR ROOF AND SIDING DAMAGE TO SEVERAL HOMES.
THE TOTAL LENGTH OF THE DAMAGE TRACK WAS 3.0 MILES WHILE DAMAGE
WIDTH RANGED FROM 40 TO 80 YARDS. THE DAMAGE INTENSITY WAS RATED
F(0) ON THE FUJITA SCALE.

THE SECOND TORNADO INITIALLY TOUCHED DOWN 1.5 MILES SOUTH OF
LEASBURG NEAR HIGHWAY `MM` WHERE LARGE BRANCHES WERE DOWN. DAMAGE
WIDTH WAS APPROXIMATELY 40 YARDS. THE TORNADO MOVED EAST AND CROSSED
DAVIS VALLEY ROAD. LARGE LIMBS AND A FEW LARGE TREES WERE DOWN ON A
FARMSTEAD. THE TORNADO THEN MOVED OVER HIGHWAY `H` AND HIT A SECOND
FARMSTEAD. TWO HOMES SUSTAINED VARYING DEGREES OF DAMAGE WHILE TWO
MACHINE SHEDS WERE SEVERLY DAMAGED. THE WIDTH OF THE DAMAGE TRACK AT
THIS LOCATION INCREASED TO 80 YARDS. THE DAMAGE OVER THIS AREA WAS
RATED F1 INTENSITY. THE TORNADO CONTINUED TO MOVED EAST ALONG POSSUM
HOLLOW ROAD. FIVE HOMES ALONG POSSUM HOLLOW ROAD SUSTAINED VARYING
DEGREES OF ROOF..SIDING AND WINDOW DAMAGE. THE DAMAGE WIDTH VARIED
BETWEEN 50 TO 75 YARDS WHILE DAMAGE INTENSITY WAS RATED F1.

FROM THIS POINT THE TORNADO TRAVELED MAINLY OVER FORESTED AND
FARMLAND AREAS AS IT CROSSED HIGHWAY `N` OVER EASTERN CRAWFORD
COUNTY. SEVERAL LARGE AND SMALL TREES WERE EITHER DESTROYED OVER
SEVERELY DAMAGED. THE DAMAGE WIDTH AGAIN VARIED FROM 50 TO 75 YARDS
WHILE DAMAGE INTENSITY WAS RATED F0 - F1. THE TORNADIC DAMAGED ENDED
APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE WEST OF THE CRAWFORD-WASHINGTON COUNTY LINE
1/2 MILE NORTH OF HIGHWAY N.

TOTAL TORNADIC DAMAGE LENGTH WAS 10 MILES.
