...PRELIMINARY DAMAGE SURVEY FOR APRIL 2 2006 PARKHILL MO TORNADO
(ST FRANCOIS COUNTY) AND WEINGARTEN MO TORNADO (STE GENEVIEVE
COUNTY)...

PERSONNEL FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN ST. LOUIS
CONDUCTED A PRELIMINARY SURVEY OF THE DAMAGE THAT OCCURRED OVER
PARTS OF STE FRANCOIS AND STE GENEVIEVE COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI. THE DAMAGE WAS PRODUCED BY A TORNADO AND STRAIGHT LINE
WINDS.

AT APPROXIMATELY 500 PM CDT A WEAK TORNADO OCCURRED IN PARK HILLS
MISSOURI. THE PARK HILLS TORNADO BRIEFLY TOUCHED DOWN AT THE
INTERSECTION OF BUSINESS ROUTE 67 AND 5TH STREET. TWO WITNESSES
OBSERVED THE TORNADO. A PORTION OF THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP WAS DAMAGED
BY THE TORNADO. THE TORNADO MOVED EAST AND CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO
THE ROOFS OF A THREE HOMES. SEVERAL LARGE TREE LIMBS WERE ALSO
SNAPPED BY THE TORNADO. THE TOTAL LENGTH OF THE PARK HILLS TORNADIC
DAMAGE TRACK WAS APPROXIMATELY 150 YARDS WHILE THE DAMAGE WIDTH
WAS LESS THAN 50 YARDS. THE DAMAGE INTENSITY OF THE TORNADO WAS
RATED F(0).

A DOWNBURST ALSO OCCURRED OVER THE CITY OF PARK HILLS AND DAMAGED
THREE OTHER UTILITY STRUCTURES. THREE OTHER BUSINESSES SUSTAINED
MINOR DAMAGE WHILE SEVERAL HOMES SUSTAINED MINOR ROOF DAMAGE.

THE SAME THUNDERSTORM LINE SPAWNED A SECOND TORNADO ALONG HIGHWAY 32
8 MILES NORTHEAST OF FARMINGTON MISSOURI OR 2 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
WEINGARTEN IN STE GENEVIEVE COUNTY. THE SECOND TORNADO INITIALLY
TOUCHED DOWN AT APPROXIMATELY 505 PM CST AND MOVED EAST ALONG AND
SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 32. THREE FARMSTEADS SUSTAINED MINOR HOME AND
MACHINE SHED DAMAGE WHILE SEVERAL TREES WERE SNAPPED OR UPROOTED.
THE TOTAL LENGTH OF THE SECOND TORNADIC DAMAGE TRACK WAS 2.0 MILES
WHILE THE DAMAGE WIDTH WAS 40 YARDS WIDE. THE DAMAGE INTENSITY OF
THE SECOND TORNADO WAS RATED F(0).
