Below is a listing of recent publications - presentations completed by our staff members at National Weather Service Office St. Louis MO. Many of these publications were presented at the AMS Conference on Severe Local Storms and National Weather Association Annual Meetings. We are active in several local applied research studies to improve our forecasting of severe weather. A number of these papers resulted from collaborative work with Dr. Jim Moore, Dr. Chuck Graves and graduate students from Saint Louis University and staff members at adjacent NWS offices (WFOs Paducah and Louisville) as part of the COMET Cooperative Project. Some of the recent heavy rainfall related papers resulted from activities with the CIPS Project at Saint Louis University. Other recent papers in the topics of forecasting damaging winds and non-supercell tornadoes resulted from collaboration with a Dr. Nolan Atkins and graduate students from Lyndon State College in Lyndonville Vermont and Dr. Jeff Trapp and graduate students from Purdue University, West Lafayette Indiana. |
