BAMEX FORECAST OPERATIONS

 

- Shift Hours (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM CDT)
- Forecast Team will consist of one NWS Forecaster and BAMEX Researcher
- Forecast preparation will take place at Mid-America Airport (just north of
  Scott Air Force Base). 
- FX-net / GEMPAK - GARP data sets will be available for forecast preparations.
- Focus on the Day 1 (afternoon) and Day 2 forecasts for MCS development.
- Forecast Team  will preform briefing at 12:00 noon to PI's and Aircraft crews.

 

BAMEX NOWCAST OPERATIONS

 

- Two Nowcast Shifts are planned for Day 1 operations.
  Shift Hours (11:30 am - 7:30 pm and 6:00 pm to 2:00 am)
- Nowcast Team will consist of one NWS Forecaster and one (two) BAMEX Researchers.
- Nowcasters will directly work with the Operations Director.
- FX-net / Nowrad / WARP model output will be available to the Nowcasters
- More information will be forth-coming.
