The following information provides specifics on the new left menu navigation bar on the Saint Louis National Weather Service (NWS) homepage:

Current Hazards:

  • Watches/Warnings displays current information on local and national weather watches and warnings.

  • Outlooks displays the current Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Quad Cities NWS area of responsibility.

  • Submit Report  via our eSpotter system.  Registered spotters can log in and submit severe weather reports to the Saint Louis NWS.

Current Conditions:

  • Observations observations are generated by weather observation sites in and close to our County Warning Area (CWA).

  • Radar displays the current radar image for Saint Louis (KLSX).
  • Satellite Images allows you to display several different types of satellite pictures.

  • Observed Precip ahps national precipitation Analysis.


  • Local Area provides quick links to local area forecasts, discussions and model data.  Information on local forecasts can also be accessed by clicking on specific points of the map on the main page. 

  • Activity Planner  allow a user to define and produce a forecast for general planning purposes only.

  • Aviation  a link to the Aviation Weather Center which delivers consistent, timely and accurate weather information for the world airspace system

  • Fire Weather National maps, links to SPC Fire Weather page, entry point for authorized requests for Spot Forecasts.


  • Rivers & Lakes allows you to access the Advanced Hydrological Prediction Service (AHPS) for the Saint Louis County Warning Area (CWA).  AHPS displays current river stage observations, and river forecast information.


  • Local a link to the climate page with Observation Reports and Climate data.

  • National a link to the National Climate page.

  • Drought provides links to unique local climate data.
