Day1...

1958: Tornadoes affecting St. Clair and Madison counties in Illinois produced F1 and F2 damage.

1989: Hail measuring up to 2 inches in diameter and severe thunderstorm winds affected much of the eastern part of the CWA.

Day2...

1987: Severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) were reported throughout the CWA. A few weak tornadoes (causing only F0 and F1 damage) were also reported.

1992: In Audrain county, winds of up to 96mph (83kts) were reported in association with severe thunderstorm activity.

Day3...

1969: The lowest temperature on record at St. Louis for the month of June (43 degrees) was recorded.

1962: In Pike and Shelby counties in Missouri, severe thunderstorms produced tornadoes causing F0 and F1 damage. Winds of 50mph (50kts) were also reported in Greene county in Illinois.

Day4...

1973: Severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) were reported throughout much of the CWA. In St. Charles, the wind gusts topped out at 115mph (100kts). A few weak (F1) tornadoes were also reported in the CWA.

1999: In Lewis county, hail measuring up to 2 inches in diameter was produced by a severe thunderstorm.

Day5...

1917: A tornado causing F4 damage killed 16 and injured 68 in Boone and Audrain counties.

1965: Winds of up to 79mph (69kts) were associated with a severe thunderstorm in Marion county in Missouri.

1993: The lowest temperature on record at Columbia for the month of June (40 degrees) was recorded.

Day6...

1907: A tornado causing F4 damage killed 5 and injured 20 in Washington county in Illinois.

Day7...

1982: Thunderstorm activity produced severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) over much of the CWA. In Audrain county, wind gusts were reported up to 70mph (61kts).

1995: The Boone County Emergency Operations Center reported golf ball-size hail measuring up to two inches in diameter in Sturgeon, but most stones were smaller. Wind gusts to 60 mph were also reported.

Day8...

1982: In Callaway county, a severe thunderstorm dropped hail that measured up to 4 inches in diameter. Elsewhere in the CWA, severe winds (the highest of which reached 100mph/87kts in Randolph county) were reported.

1990: Severe thunderstorms produced severe wind (57mph/50kts or greater) and a few weak (F1) tornadoes. Hail measuring up to 2 inches in diameter was reported in Moniteau county.

Day9...

1974: The 4th highest wind occurrence for St. Louis (76mph) was recorded. That same day severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) were recorded throughout much of the CWA. Wind gusts measured up to 99mph (86kts) in Franklin county in Missouri.

Day10...

1967: Winds of up to 81mph (70kts) as well as a tornado were reported in Jefferson county.

2003: A bow echo storm system created wind gusts up to 100 miles an hour across parts of the Metro East area. The result was numerous trees and power lines down. There was also some minor roof damage and some vehicles that were damaged by the falling trees. At Scott Air Force Base, the base weather station measured a wind gust of 90 knots (104mph).

Day11...

1999: Severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) were produced throughout much of the CWA. In some areas, storm spotters reported wind gusts near 80 mph (70kts) which downed trees and power lines.

Day12...

1957: In St. Clair county winds of up to 81mph (71kts) were reported in association with thunderstorm activity. In St. Louis, the winds topped out at 75mph (65kts).

1970: A tornado outbreak produced 4 separate tornadoes that caused F2 and F3 damage in Shelby, Lewis, Audrain and Pike counties in Missouri.

Day13...

1997: Severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) were produced throughout much of the CWA in association with severe thunderstorms. The highest winds (64mph/56kts) were reported in Madison, St. Francois and Washington counties in Missouri.

Day14...

1957: Severe thunderstorms produced a tornado causing F2 damage in Pike county in Illinois.

Day15...

1991: Severe thunderstorms produced winds of up to 60mph (52kts) throughout much of the CWA. A few weak (F0 and F1) tornadoes were also reported.

Day16...

2004: Nickel sized hail as well as 63mph (55kt) winds were reported in St. Clair county In Illinois. Heavy rain also caused flash flooding in Madison county in Illinois.

Day17...

1985: The highest wind occurrence for Columbia (95mph) was recorded. This wind occurred on the same day that a tornado struck the Columbia Regional Airport causing damage to 22 planes.

1994: Twelve days of temperatures in the 90s and heat indices over 100 degrees produced numerous reports of heat related illnesses and minor damage to crops. In the City of St. Louis, four deaths and 33 heat related illnesses were reported from the 17th through the 23rd. In the county of St. Louis, 10 heat related illnesses were reported and treated at local hospitals.

Day18...

1973: Severe thunderstorms produced winds of greater than 57mph (50kts) in St. Louis and St. Clair counties.

1983: Hail measuring up to 2 inches in diameter was reported in Moniteau county.

Day19...

1928: Between the 19th and 20th, 5.83 inches of rain fall at Columbia. This is the 5th greatest 24-hour total amount of precipitation for that location.

1936: The highest temperatures on record at Columbia and Quincy for the month of June (both 105 degrees) were recorded.

Day20...

1998: Severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) were associated with thunderstorm activity throughout the CWA. The highest wind gusts topped out at 63mph (55kts) in many places.

2001: Thunderstorm wind gusts downed trees and power lines in the Ste. Genevieve area. A lightning strike hit a major circuit south of Ste. Genevieve along Route M knocking out power to more than 7000 customers in the north half of the County.

Day21...

1997: Severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) were produced throughout much of the CWA in association with severe thunderstorms. The highest winds (75mph/65kts) were reported in Marion county in Illinois. Numerous houses and cars were damaged by falling trees.

Day22...

1969: 2 separate tornadoes producing F4 damage were responsible for a total of 6 deaths and 36 injuries in Washington and St. Francois counties in Missouri. These tornadoes were responsible for more than 2.5 million dollars in damage.

1990: Severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) were caused by thunderstorm activity throughout the CWA. The highest winds associated with this activity (71mph/61kts) occurred in Adams county in Illinois.

1994: In Boone county, lightning struck and killed one man as he was playing golf. Another lightning bolt struck the Midway Expedition Center causing $1000 in damage.

Day23...

1980: In Greene county, hail measuring up to 3.0 inches in diameter was produced by a severe thunderstorm.

1998: The first heat wave of the summer caused 3 deaths and at least 143 heat related injuries. High temperatures were in the middle 90s with the heat indices from 105 to 110 from the 23rd through the 30th.

Day24...

1968: The remnants of Tropical Storm Candy dropped up to 5 inches of rain over central Missouri.

Day25...

1954: The highest temperature on record at Quincy for the month of June (105 degrees) was recorded.

2000: Severe winds (57mph/50kts or greater) were produced by thunderstorm across much of the CWA. In Boone county in Missouri, the wind gusts topped out at 75mph (65kts).

2003: Heavy rain caused flooding across parts many parts of the CWA. Numerous streets in the St. Louis Metro area were flooded until the next morning causing problems for morning commuters.

Day26...

1954: The highest temperature on record at Quincy for the month of June (105 degrees) was recorded.

1989: Wind gusts of up to 61mph (53kts) were reported in St. Clair county associated with a severe thunderstorm.

Day27...

1972: In St. Louis county, hail measuring up to 2.75 inches in diameter was produced by a severe thunderstorm.

Day28...

1980: In St. Louis county, hail measuring up to 3.0 inches in diameter was produced by a severe thunderstorm.

1965: In Madison county, hail measuring up to 3.0 inches in diameter was produced by a severe thunderstorm.

Day29...

1952: The highest temperatures on record at St. Louis and Quincy (both 105 degrees) for the month of June were recorded.

1964: Winds of up to 75mph (65kts) were produced by a severe thunderstorm in St. Louis.

Day30...

1901: The highest temperature on record at Columbia for the month of June (105 degrees) was recorded.

1960: A severe thunderstorm produced a tornado in St. Charles county. Luckily it only caused F0 damage and no one was killed or injured.
