The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Chanhassen, Minnesota is dedicated to protecting life and property across much of Southern Minnesota and West Central Wisconsin. This mission is conducted by continuously monitoring weather conditions, issuing regular weather forecasts, and by disseminating severe weather warnings and safety information when hazardous weather approaches. All of our forecasts, warnings, and information statements are freely distributed in a number of ways including NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts and this website. The National Weather Service is a government agency under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Commerce and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
