Dangerously Cold Wind Chills Over West and Central Upper Michigan through Friday Morning

Arctic high pressure over the Northern Plains states will bring a reinforcing shot of very cold air into the Upper Great Lakes region through Friday.  The bitter cold airmass, along with increased northwest winds, will drive wind chill values into the 25 to 46 below range.  Wind chills will moderate temporarily to 10 to 20 below zero this afternoon and evening.  However, expect wind chill readings to tumble again into the 25 to 38 below zero range late tonight and Friday morning, as the core of the arctic airmass drifts overhead.

See the latest winter weather statement for further details on the dangerous wind chills.
